Couples Group

6:30PM | Rich and Vicki Pancoast | student building

We rarely see bad relationships, especially in a social media world where only the highlight reel is being seen. I’m certain all of us have known that couple who “out of nowhere” gets a divorce. No one saw it coming. They may have not as well. Much of that is caused by a lack of talking about what needs to be talked about. Much of that is because heavier items (or even what one thinks was a lighter item) were swept under the rug only to accumulate and pile up and then NEEDED to be addressed ASAP. This group is all about talking about real life marriage items that can build up, fester or even cause a divorce down the road if not addressed. This group is for thriving marriages and marriages that seem hopeless. It’s also for couples soon to be married. It’s a proactive group as well as a reactive group (based on current problems) Despite how ‘perfect’ your marriage seems today, it is NOT immune to LIFE: a job loss, a health issue, a difficult in-law, kids, a move, etc.. All of these change the norm and can have detrimental effects on a once seemingly healthy marriage.

We are addressing all of this as we INVEST in our relationships together. This group is full of honest conversation and encouragement. We base all of this on Biblical principles - Not a marriage book or self-help book.

THE LIE YOU DON’T KNOW YOU BELIEVE

WOMEN’S GROUP

6:30PM | Carol Voccola and Janet Gentle | FC

We’ve all been there—feeling stuck, frustrated, and wondering why things just don’t feel okay. No matter how much we try, we can’t seem to shake the same destructive habits, anxious thoughts, and hidden insecurities. What if the real problem isn’t what we’re doing but what we’re believing? What if, underneath it all, we’ve been living from a core lie, one that has quietly shaped our identity, our relationships, and even how we see God?

In The Lie You Don’t Know You Believe Bible Study, we will trace the wilderness temptation of Christ alongside the three lies Jennie has discerned every person believes at their core. We will see how Jesus was not tempted to listen to the lies of the enemy, but through his example, we can learn how to identify the lies and then how to fight them.

5:00PM | Doug and Denise Schuch| Durham Home

Do you ever listen to a message on Sunday and leave with some unanswered questions about how to apply God’s word to your daily life? Maybe there was something you didn't understand or just something you’d like to explore more deeply? Would you enjoy having dinner and building relationships with others who also want to continue learning about the teaching on Sunday mornings? If you answered, “Yes,” to any of those questions, we would love for you to join us in our home in Durham on Sunday nights, 5:00-7:00 p.m., for food, fellowship, and learning more about what it means to follow Jesus.

EQUIPPED

Coed Group

10:45AM | Bethe Mullen | lp building

1 Peter 3:15 says, “…always be prepared to give a defense to anyone who asks you for the reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” All believers are called to share and be prepared to explain the reason for our faith but often feel ill-equipped. We have the desire to reach others about the powerful truth of Christ but may feel unprepared on how to do this and unsure about how to respond to questions or objections. EQUIPPED is a group for the ordinary Christian. It aims to deepen your understanding and knowledge, fortify and anchor your own faith, and empower and equip you to engage effectively. You will learn to advance faith conversations and share the hope of Christ with confidence, gentleness, and respect. It is not a class on how to win every argument or attack competing viewpoints.  The skill and knowledge you will learn is essential for an effective Christian witness and has the power to change lives. Book based group featuring a book by renowned apologist Dr. William Craig.
